What is the CompTIA CDIA+?

The CompTIA CDIA+ certification is the first global standard of competency and professionalism in the document imaging/document management industry. Supported by a network of worldwide industry leaders, it validates a professional’s level of expertise in the technologies and best practices used to plan, design and specify a document imaging/management system. To date, more than 7,000 professionals have achieved the CompTIA CDIA+ designation worldwide. The certification grew by 57 percent between 2003-2005, and signifies the highest level of professionalism and competency in the industry.

The CompTIA CDIA+ certification reflects the skills required of today’s document management/imaging solution provider. The exam tests five dimensions of the role of a document management consultant/professional:

• Gathering business requirements (25%)
• Analyzing business processes (22%)
• Recommending a solution (16%)
• Designing a solution (24%)
• Planning for implementation (13%)

Within the UK, the average salary of a CompTIA CDIA+ technician is £27,000pa. The average salary for an CDIA+ graduate is estimated to be £23,500pa.
